Our Story – The Bombay Store

SINCE 1906

The Bombay Store enjoys a unique legacy as one of the oldest & most popular lifestyle destinations with roots tracing from India’s freedom struggle. Incorporated in 1906, during the Swadeshi movement in India, The Bombay Stores (Bombay Swadeshi earlier) was formed to promote Indian made products. The first store was founded by some of the Great Indian Patriots & Businessmen like Lokmanya Balgangadhar Tilak and Sir Jamshedji Ratanji Tata. The first store at Sir PM Road has hosted our former Honorable Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi.

Since then the store is preserving the rich India Heritage, offering a platform to the next generation to know & learn about their culture. The Bombay Store is known for its authentic handicraft products with aesthetics of heritage India. Our mission is to give our customers an experience to “Discover a New India” through our innovative range of products reflective of a blend of contemporary & traditional Indian Culture.

The Bombay Store has always housed the most exclusive range of products depicting the rich culture and heritage of India. Our products showcase a perfect blend of art and tradition with a contemporary touch. The range is made diverse keeping in mind the customers wants and needs.
